Beauty through simplicity, Megumi’s fervent drive and versatile style makes her one of Hong Kong’s most sought-after professional makeup artists. Encompassing a variety of skills and techniques, her work has been featured globally on CNN, Tatler, The South China Morning Post and many other top-tier media houses. A steady hand and keen eye for detail, has graced Megumi with the ability to seamlessly shift between minimal and complex theatrical makeup styles. The Hong Kong Ballet, known for it’s demand for perfection, chose Megumi to assist in their 2018 advertising campaign. Seeing beauty in everything, Megumi constantly evolves her makeup artistry, drawing inspiration from the natural world around her. Megumi’s ability to create picture-perfect looks has landed her A-List clients’ Paris Hilton, Carina Lau, Hailey Baldwin, and Luke Evans, among many others.

Megumi’s natural ability as a painter drove her passion to enhance and highlight the beauty in all people. Gaining a wealth of experience, she completed makeup courses in Japan and New York. Drawn to the world of fashion, Megumi went on to work with top models like Jodie Kidd, Hilary Rhoda and Du Juan, and regularly contributes to top-tier fashion magazines and press like Vogue, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, and The South China Morning Post.

Never content to stay in one place, Megumi has sharpened her skills lending her hand and eye during New York Fashion Week; working with several high end brands including Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Mandy Coon. She has also assumed mentor and leaderships roles to makeup artists at Chanel, Prada, Loewe, Cartier and BVLGARI, and Tiffany’s shows in places like Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Macau.

A consummate perfectionist, Megumi made her mark on local and international commercial projects with Yahoo, Apple, Bausch and Lomb, as well as on advertising work for Lancel, Cathay Pacific, Shanghai Tang, J Crew, and Reebok among others. Adding to her impeccable resume in 2013, Megumi provided expertise and staff training to Sephora Cosmetics and NYX Cosmetics for their Asia Pacific business launches in Malaysia and India.

Megumi’s signature style is approachable, and confident; conceptualizing flawless skin and defined looks. She makes each client glammed and beautiful with every brush stroke. Apart from establishing her own brand one day — SOON, helping women gain confidence has always been at the heart and soul of her work.

Currently based in Hong Kong, Megumi runs a makeup workshop on a monthly basis, as she continues to empower women from all walks of life through makeup.
